A thankful pause

It’s my mamas’s 70th birthday today. I’m so thankful I got her as my mom.

This is my favourite picture ever taken of us together. Her gentleness holding me strong in my grumpiness.

Trying to be Good is taking a pause offline to respect and grieve the gracious woman who made me.

Judy Joy Symington, rest knowing your job here was beautifully done.

I will follow in your footsteps.

This is also some advice my mom gave me once. I think it is really fitting so I’ll pass it on to you. Some of you may have heard it before. Click on the link below.

The Message

If anyone has any rituals, healing prayers or plain ordinary advice for those of us who have lost a mom, please post them in the comments below. I believe in the comforting power of the collective.

When I was lamenting over her bedside what I wished and could have done and was sorry for she whispered to me “no regrets, only now.” So let’s start there…

See you all soon. I still have lots to say.
